An engine advantage from the Chromium forkThe most widely assumed AlohaJet advantage, and it is false. Browser Use states three times in its own documentation that it “maintains its own Chromium fork rather than patching detection fixes from the outside” — and it has already monetised it, as the stealth product that clears 81% of protected sites against 2% for stock headless. AlohaJet's fork is real but has no agent work on it; the last twenty org events are inbound forks and watches with zero pushes.
Device reputation and passkeys cannot be uploadedRight physics, wrong beneficiary. Browser Harness attaches to the user's already-running local Chrome, so it inherits exactly the same aged profile, the same device fingerprint and the same Secure Enclave-bound WebAuthn credentials. The advantage is real against Browser Use's cloud product and zero against the tool they give away.
Selling LLMdex standalone to Browser Use's customersBoth halves are commodities and the product cannot be obtained. There is no base URL, API reference, auth documentation, repository or package. “One line: the base URL” is word-for-word OpenRouter's pitch, and OpenRouter ships.
Distribution through 20M mobile installsThe most seductive angle and the least sound. Those installs were acquired by a free consumer privacy and VPN browser on a “hide my browsing” promise. The overlap with people who want to run agentic browser automation on a Mac is close to unmeasured, and no conversion evidence exists in either direction.
Flat seat pricing against unforecastable token billsA price list is the single most copyable thing a competitor has. Browser Use already sells what reads as flat to a budget owner: $29, $299 and $999 monthly tiers with included credits. AlohaJet's own $20 and $200 tiers currently list no features at all.
“Open source” as a differentiatorBrowser Use is MIT-licensed with 111,750 stars and 347 contributors. AlohaJet has published no code at all. The claim does not merely fail to differentiate — it actively damages credibility, because it is checkable in ten seconds.
“Runs locally, on your device”Browser Use's MIT framework runs entirely locally, and Browser Harness drives the user's own Chrome over CDP. Local execution is already available from the incumbent, for free.
“Works with any model, your keys”So does the Browser Use framework, including local models through Ollama. This is table stakes across the category, not a position.
LLMdex's “ladder” — routing to the cheapest capable modelA mature commodity with its own comparison benchmark. OpenRouter, LiteLLM, RouteLLM, Not Diamond, Martian, Unify and vLLM Semantic Router all do this. “One line: the base URL” is identical to OpenRouter's pitch.

“No per-task fees” as a cost advantageThe browser hour is already dead as a revenue line — a 6× price spread across vendors, Kernel eliminating idle charges, and Notte pricing sessions at literally $0.00. Competing on a number racing to zero is not a strategy.
“Cheap open-source models are enough”Open-weight share of enterprise LLM usage fell from 19% to 11% between 2024 and 2025 despite capability gains. The market moved the other way, for licensing and governance reasons rather than quality.
Beating Playwright MCP and Chrome DevTools MCPA category error. Both are un-scaffolded tool servers with no planner or retry loop; the 11% figure is roughly what an unscaffolded 2023 agent scored. This measures the value of having a scaffold, then presents it as a product comparison — while omitting every system that shares the benchmark.
A standalone consumer agentic browserA proven failed form factor. OpenAI discontinued Atlas on 9 August 2026 after nine months; Google shut down Project Mariner in May 2026. Both re-homed the capability into the assistant and the browser they already owned. Chrome Auto Browse now ships at OS level toward ~200M devices.
